SAGE ESG SALON

The Energy Transition is real, and all sectors, particularly energy, must learn how to compete within a decarbonizing world. Many of the assumptions and perspectives influencing the execution of the transition are inaccurate, and ESG data aimed at measuring the transition’s adoption and progress is not empirical.

The implications of these shortcomings are widespread throughout the capital markets. As a result, technological innovation, progress on ESG-related directives, portfolio construction, and ratings are littered with bias, erroneous assumptions, and skewed narratives. This restricts access to capital, especially to the companies that need it most.

These ripple effects are likely to drive the conventional energy participants further away from the transition-focused crowd instead of bringing them together. To execute a successful Energy Transition, participants across the energy spectrum must learn to capitalize on each other’s talents to complete one of the largest undertakings mankind has ever experienced.
