Sage Advice Taxable Quarterly Market Review 1Q2019

In terms of the second quarter, we have a more cautious view and have started to tilt modestly more defensive within our strategies given poor data trends, higher volatility, and the rebound in risk assets. To this end, we have a full-duration weighting versus our benchmarks, a more bar-belled curve allocation given the flattening trend, and a spread overweight divided between credit and MBS. While the fourth quarter provided an opportunity to tactically increase credit on spread widening, the rapid tightening in the first quarter has prompted us to selectively sell issuers that have tightened significantly and offer less upside potential.
