Since August 2007 investors’ perception of the economy has shifted from cautiously optimistic to all out panic due to a lack of confidence and trust. No asset class, except for U.S. Treasuries, has been immune to the adverse effects of the current credit crisis. During this period, municipal investors have experienced some of the largest negative monthly returns in over 15 years.
