Weekly Market Commentary 08/12/2016

The afterglow from last week’s stellar jobs report was sustained and even burnished a bit by this week’s follow-up report on labor market turnover. The so-called Jolts report, which lags the bellwether jobs report by a month, showed that employers posted 110,000 more job listings in June, lifting the total to 5.624 million. That’s a shade under the record 5.845 million reached in April, but it was the fifth month out of the last six that job openings increased.
