Weekly Market Commentary 09/30/2016

The controversy, angst and uncertainty being generated by the presidential election will only intensify as the highly divisive campaign moves closer to election day. That said, households appear to be undaunted by the process. Indeed, according to at least one widely followed survey, they are feeling more upbeat than any time since before the Great Recession. The Conference Board reported this week that its consumer confidence index surged 2.3 points to 104.1 in September, the highest level since August 2007.
