Weekly Market Commentary 11/25/2016

It may not be the top news story of the week, but 48.7 million drivers were expected to hit the road over the Thanksgiving holiday, the most since 2007 according to AAA. With the price of regular gasoline about 15 cents a gallon cheaper than at mid-year and near the lowest since the Great Recession, the savings at the pump is just another reason Americans have something to cheer about as the holiday shopping season gets underway. To be sure, at least half the voting age population that went to the polls are still licking their post-election wounds. Still, they can draw some solace not only from the gas savings, but also from the post-election response of the financial markets to the unexpected Trump victory.
