January 10, 2023 — While the fourth quarter brought encouraging news on the inflation front and optimism for a monetary policy pivot in 2023, it coincided with a worsening global economic picture. The good news for fixed income investors is that conditions in 2023 are much more favorable. Attractive yield carry, a weak growth picture, and the end of the Fed cycle are all conditions conducive to strong returns in core fixed income.
